The Pan American Minifootball Federation (PAMF) will be launching their first-ever e-PanAm Cup from August 27 to September 6, PAMF president Rico Chermont announced on Monday.
Ten countries are expected to participate in the 10 day-long tournament, including the Canadian Minifootball Federation (CMF). Between 36 to 48 players will be competing against each other in matches of FIFA 20 on Playstation 4.
This comes in response to the 2020 PanAm Cup in Las Vegas, which was originally scheduled for April 30 to May 3, is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The winning country of the e-PanAm Cup will receive their trophy during the closing ceremonies of the PanAm Cup, expected to run from October 8 to 11.
Player registration is currently running until August 2, which will help determine the number of groups. A draw will be held on August 4 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to assemble the groups and organize the schedule.
The games will be organized by PAMF while the players are in their homes playing FIFA 20. You can catch the action on PAMF TV, YouTube, and on the PAMF’s social media pages.
